Preliminary Developments towards a High-order and Efficient Les Code for Propulsion Applications

چکیده
An advanced LES code, named SPARK-LES, is currently under development at CIRA within the frame of the HYPROB program. The general goal of the HYPROB program, coherently with CIRA programmatic guidelines in the field of Aerospace Propulsion, is to improve CIRA design and research capabilities on Liquid Rocket Engines, and in particular on the LOx/CH4 oxidizer-fuel mixture. One of the objectives of the HYPROB program is to develop enabling qualified technologies and corresponding high-fidelity simulation tools to support the design of propulsion systems. In this framework, Large-Eddy Simulation (LES) has emerged over the last years as a promising and reliable technique to perform unsteady computations of reacting flows in lowas well as high-pressure environments [1]. In particular, the final goal of SPARK-LES is to perform accurate simulations of liquid-rocket thrust chambers with suitable numerical/physical models.

متن کاملMixed Large-Eddy Simulation Model for Turbulent Flows across Tube Bundles Using Parallel Coupled Multiblock NS Solver
In this study, turbulent flow around a tube bundle in non-orthogonal grid is simulated using the Large Eddy Simulation (LES) technique and parallelization of fully coupled Navier – Stokes (NS) equations. To model the small eddies, the Smagorinsky and a mixed model was used. This model represents the effect of dissipation and the grid-scale and subgrid-scale interactions. The fully coupled NS eq...

متن کاملThe Potential of Nanoparticles for Upgrading Thin Film Nanocomposite Membranes – A Review
Over the past decade, many applications were intended for filtration by membrane technology especially the thin film composite (TFC) membranes. In advanced developments of thin film membranes, an attempt was made to spread a new generation of membranes called thin film nano composite (TFN) membranes. However, in the last generation of TFNs, an ultrathin selective film of nanoparticles is coated...
